MOLTEN SIX

Six organic forms of molten brass transform a minimalist hand-forged bangle into a small piece of wearable sculpture.

Molten Six is handcrafted from 20 grams of solid jeweler’s brass. The slender band is individually formed and worked by hand, then accented with six dimensional brass forms across the front. Each has its own slightly irregular shape and surface—the variations are intentional and are part of the character of handmade work.

I love the contrast in this piece: the simplicity of the narrow brass bangle against the weight and texture of the six sculptural forms. From a distance it has a clean, modern silhouette; up close, the irregular surfaces reveal the marks and movement created during the making process.

The design draws from Organic Brutalism and Modernism, with an emphasis on raw material, form and imperfection rather than conventional symmetry and machine-made uniformity.

Brass naturally develops a richer patina with time and wear, making the piece increasingly individual to its owner. It may also be gently polished when a brighter golden finish is preferred.
